Warm-weather RV Travelers

The Top Snowbird Parks are among the hundreds of RV parks that dot the U.S. Sunbelt, from the deserts of California to Florida’s tropical Gulf Coast. RVers who enjoy the snowbird lifestyle range from retired seniors, who have the wherewithal to journey far from home for extended periods of time, to Baby Boomers dipping their toes in the water.

While some snowbirds spend the winter months traveling from one warm-weather location to another, others enjoy long-term stays at RV parks and resorts that cultivate a sense of community among seasonal residents. At Florida’s Sunseeker RV Park in Fort Lauderdale, guests partake in themed costume parties throughout the season. In Mission, Texas, Bentsen Grove Resort offers residents everything from bingo to pickleball to craft classes to keep guests occupied.

Many of the RV parks and resorts on the Good Sam RV Travel Guide list provide amenities designed for long-term guests, including spas, pools, yoga classes, personal trainers and computer rooms. Eagle View RV Resort at Fort McDowell, Arizona, for example, offers a state-of-the-art fitness center, horseback rides along the banks of the Verde River and outings to the nearby Fort McDowell Casino. At California’s Bakersfield RV Resort, an onsite bar and restaurant beckons guests who’ve worked up an appetite after hours on the road, and a masseuse stands by to help guests unwind.

Location also plays a role in snowbird parks’ popularity. Alabama’s Bella Terra RV Resort, for example, puts guests just minutes from the sugar white sands of the Gulf Coast. LVM Resort in Las Vegas sits just a few blocks from the legendary Los Vegas Strip, where world class gaming, food and entertainment are always within reach.
