Summary

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling particular 2019-2020 Surveyor, NO BO, Cherokee, R. POD, Clipper, Viking, Independence, Puma, and East to West trailers. The spare tire carrier U-bolts may fail, allowing the spare tire carrier and spare tire detach from the vehicle.

The recalled spare tire carrier U-bolts have a significant flat spot in the inside bend radius from rough tooling that created a weak spot allowing the material to be stretched and bent across a flat plane.

The remedy U-bolts are the same part number, however, they have a smooth inside bend radius from new tooling that allows the material to be properly formed.

Remedy

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace U-bolts, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on March 13, 2020.
