center>

RV Propane tank theft is apparently a problem these days. Here are some practical ways to secure your RV’s propane tanks and reduce the risk of theft.

Simple padlock solution to secure RV propane tanks.

Simple Lock Solution: One of our Facebook Group members devised this solution to secure his new propane tanks after his old tanks were stolen. You will most likely need to drill through the wingnut and crossbar, but this has to be the simplest way to lock down your propane tanks.

Simpler But More Expensive: Don’t want to drill a hole? The Camco Double Propane Tank Locking Device provides a simple solution to secure two propane tanks on your RV. The kit has a combination lock, so no additional hardware is needed—just install it and lock your tanks in place. The device is a straightforward, effective option to help prevent RV propane tank theft.

Secure with a Cable Lock: Wrap a thick security cable lock around the propane tanks and connect it to a fixed part of the RV. Choose a high-quality lock resistant to cutting, and ensure it’s tight enough to prevent tampering.

RV Propane Tank Cover: Protect your RV propane tanks with a molded plastic propane tank cover. It provides out-of-site-out-of-mind protection, and a strategically drilled hole will allow for a security cable and/or a padlock. A cover also keeps your RV’s look aesthetically pleasing while protecting the propane tanks from rain and debris and providing UV protection against sun damage.
