Georgia State Parks Offering Snowbirds Discount

Georgia State Parks Discounts

According to a recent Escapees Club newsletter, Snowbirds migrating south for the winter will find attractive incentives, both recreationally and financially, to rest their wings at 12 Georgia State Parks. From November 2015 through February 28, 2016, select Georgia State Parks are offering discounts of 30 to 50 perecent off their already low rates on campsites. Depending upon the park and the length of stay, extended-stay rates can be as low as $9.50 per night for a campsite with considerable amenities.

Last season’s 50 percent off deal on stays of 30 days or more was so popular that this year Georgia State Parks is offering a discount on shorter stays of a minimum of 14 days, for 30 percent off. The discounts are valid for tent, trailer and RV campsites at 12 participating state parks across Middle and South Georgia. The parks include Chattahoochee Bend State Park, General Coffee State Park, George L. Smith State Park, Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park, High Falls State Park, Indian Springs State Park, Kolomoki Mounds State Park, Laura S. Walker State Park, Magnolia Springs State Park, Reed Bingham State Park, Seminole State Park and Stephen C. Foster State Park.

Two of the parks, Laura S. Walker State Park, an hour west of Jekyll and St. Simons Islands, and Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park, an hour west of Savannah, offer excellent golf courses with affordable greens fees, junior/senior rates, a clubhouse and golf pro shop. All of the extended-stay parks offer unparalleled natural surroundings, quietness and serenity, lake and/or water features, historical perspectives and plenty of recreational amenities, such as bike and kayak rentals. Some have full electric, water and sewer hook-ups, even cable TV, for discerning cold-weather escapees. Regular campsite rates range from approximately $19.00 to $38.00. Snowbird Special rates range from $9.50 to $19.00 per night for a 30 day or more stay, and $13.30 to $26.60 for 14 to 29 days.

At Georgia State Parks, it’s all about the outdoors for singles, couples or families. For an extended stay with great rates, everyone can easily escape the cold and bask under the Georgia sun, enjoying a wide range of activities.
