There are several online resources to help you figure the retail value of an RV. The first resource is National Automobile Dealers Association Guides. NADA publishes value guides for RVs that the industry uses. You can get the info from www.nadaguides.com for free. This will give you an idea of current retail low and high value. Of course most RV buyers will look at the low value while a seller is going to look at the high value. That’s where bargaining comes into play when negotiating a fair price.
Since most dealers list there inventory online, doing a Google search for a specific year/model should produce at least a few sales listings. By comparing those prices with the one from NADA you begin to get a ‘real world’ value. Even if you can’t find your particular RV list you’ll be able to compare similar RVs. Often times a manufacturer makes nearly the same RV under different names. For example Prowler and Terry are both products of Fleetwood.
Unfortunately, RVs seem to depreciate much faster than cars or trucks, so be prepared. The fact that an RV has low milage and has been well cared for is a plus for resale, but this will not figure in dramatically on the value. The older the RV the more this is true.
