RV Roof Air Conditioner Freezing Up

There is a sensor that is supposed to be attached to the condenser of the RV air conditioner that will detect when the condenser is too cold and turn of the compressor to prevent freezing up.

When our new air conditioner was freezing up my RV tech suggested that I look to see of the sensor was properly installed… it was not.

After attaching it to the condenser the air conditioner works properly and does not freeze.

Also, when looking for the sensor, I noticed the intake and exhaust were not properly partitioned which allowed a lot of the cold air to be immediately recycled rather than going out through the ducting. Several strips of duct tape fixed that and the RV air conditioner is much more efficient now.
